Water is the sign of beginning of life.  According to most of the evolution theories it is believed that life on earth started with water. Our own planet Earth area is covered with 71% of water.

But are you aware of the fact that 97% of the earth’s water is found in the oceans (too salty for drinking and growing crops). That means we cannot use the 97% of water. Only 3% of the earth’s water is fresh water. Out of 3% of fresh water 2.5% is again locked up as glaciers, polar ice caps, atmosphere, and soil.

That means we have only 0.5% of the earth’s water available as fresh water

What happens if water is completely finished? Can you imagine a day without water?

Water is very important to everyone’s life. A human can survive hardly just for one week without water. Water provides all the important nutrients required in the body. Every human needs water for drinking, cooking food, to maintain personal hygiene and keep homes and surroundings clean.  Water is also used in agricultural and industrial process.

Water is required by all the terrestrial life form to drink. It is also required for the marine and aquatic creatures to live because water is their living habitat. All plants vegetation also exists because of water. If there is no water then everyone is going to be perished because it is very precious natural resource. We should use water very carefully. Especially during the summer season, lot of water problems is faced across the country.

Today, water has become one of the major issues of the society. It was estimated that water in many countries will be finished by 2022. Water is the major issue of the populated countries like India and china.  As the population increases more amount of water is required. But the water being a natural resource is limited and water scarcity has increased because of uncontrollable overpopulation.  If the population is continued to grow and the water is still limited the world will fight for the sake of water. The cause for world war 3 is definitely because of water.

So in order to live without the scarcity of water there is a need to save every drop of water. Here are few tips to save water:

*Turn off the water while brushing teeth, shaving and take speedy showers.

*Re-use the bath water for watering plants using sprinklers

*Use bucket of water to wash utensils instead of running tap because lot of water is being wasted.

* One can preserve rain water and is used for bathing, watering plants, laundry, toilets, washing different items. Hence the clean water can be used for drinking and cooking.

*Avoid watering plants in the noon time as the water gets evaporated.  Water plants early in the morning and evening time when required.

*As responsible citizens promote playing dry holi to avoid massive wastage of water during festival.

* Water management and awareness programs must be initiated by the government in order to educate people about the importance of saving water.

Water is the precious gift of god on earth. So we need to strive hard and save every drop of water.
